Martina is a proud Larrakia/Warai Traditional Owner from the Northern Territory. Her career spans an impressive 38 years across various sectors, showcasing her remarkable adaptability and commitment to social justice. Martina began her professional journey with a hairdressing
apprenticeship at age 15 and has since held diverse roles including Flight Attendant, Bailiff, Sommelier, Social Justice Warrior and Human Rights Advocate.
Her extensive experience also encompasses significant tenure at the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA), where she advanced from a Legal Secretary and Practice Manager to Office Manager over 13 years.
A staunch human rights advocate, Martina’s deep personal and professional commitment led her to establish the Indigenous Road Safety Academy (IRSA), aimed at enhancing road safety education across remote communities. She also founded Stapleton Indigenous Solutions (SIS), a consultancy that complements her role in driving impactful social changes within Indigenous and mainstream Australian spheres.
