DES HEDLAND

Former Brisbane Lion, Fremantle Docker and 3 time Indigenous All Star Des Headland has joined JobTrail as an Ambassador for our new Indigenous Trainees from the Kimberley’s. We have recently employed a number of locals from the Kimberley region and are looking to take on a number more in various roles at Rio Tinto. Des has come on board to help support and drive the engagement of the trainees.

Des’s career as an elite AFL Player spanned over 10 years and he is still involved in grassroots football playing and coaching. As the Chair of the Indigenous Players Alliance he advocates on behalf of Indigenous men and women who have played in the AFL and AFLW. As a strong Noongar leader and mentor Des’s experience and advice will be invaluable to our Trainees.

Des is currently the CEO of his company Spartan Occupation Health Services providing expert end-to-end services tailored to the industry requirements for civil, construction, mining, cities all the way to government. They provide Pre-Employment Assessments, Fitness for Duty Assessments, Fitness for Work and Injury Management Services.

Spartan’s mission: Empowering Indigenous Communities and this is why JobTrail are excited to have Des on board as it aligns with our values.
